ANIES continues to contemplate, why is it so difficult to uphold truth and justice in a nation that adheres to Pancasila and in a society that is religious?
Anies’ destiny is not about failing to save the constitution and democracy. Anies’ destiny is not about losing against oligarchy and political dynasties. Anies’ destiny is not about failing to become president or governor.
Anies’ true destiny lies in remaining a free man, even though the country continues to be built on slavery and colonialism.
Anies must continue to be Anies, even if he is often insulted and slandered. Anies must continue to be Anies, even if his good deeds are repaid with evil. Anies must continue to be Anies, no matter how much his safety and security are threatened in the pursuit of truth and justice. Anies must continue to be Anies, even though he is not a Prophet or a Messenger of God.
Anies’ struggle should not be seen as a failure. Anies’ struggle should not leave disappointment, sadness, or despair. Anies’ struggle should not be defeated by money, position, or power. Anies’ struggle should not be viewed as merely a beginning or an end; it is an ongoing effort that will never cease.
So, what is the important message that God has for Anies?
God says, Anies, remain a servant of God who does not serve humans or the material world. God also says, stay on the path of truth, not on the path of falsehood; do not mix right with wrong or try to unite them. God then says that Anies should not take every struggle lightly; it is like faith that must be tested.
Immediately after, God conveyed another important message: Anies, maintain your belief that there is neither strength nor weakness, neither courage nor fear, neither victory nor defeat, except by God’s will. Finally, remain human as per the essence of your creation, and do not become anything else, God concludes.
