JAKARTA | KBA – A West Jakarta resident, Nabil, expressed disappointment over the decision of PDIP Chairwoman Megawati Soekarnoputri not to choose and nominate Anies Baswedan as the gubernatorial candidate for Jakarta 2024-2029.
“Its a shame Mr. Anies isnt being nominated by PDIP as the gubernatorial candidate, its very regrettable,” said Nabil during an interview with KBA News in Central Jakarta, Wednesday, August 28, 2024.
Nabil revealed that his choice for the former Jakarta Governor is not to be made a political puppet by the current government. Moreover, Nabil stated, Anies Baswedan is the only leader who has brought real change.
“Because Mr. Anies is the only one who can bring change, who can’t just be made a puppet while prioritizing the peoples interest,” he explained.
He also doubted the gubernatorial and deputy gubernatorial candidates who had registered with the Jakarta KPU, namely the pair Pramono Anung-Rano Karno, as well as Ridwan Kamil-Suswono, could lead Jakarta.
Although, he said, Ridwan Kamil, affectionately known as Kang Emil, had once served as the Governor of West Java. Meanwhile, Rano Karno served as the Deputy Governor of Banten and succeeded Ratu Atut as Governor of Banten.
“Im not convinced. Im confused about who to choose, my heart is still with Mr. Anies Baswedan,” he firmly stated.
For your information, the General Election Commission (KPU) of DKI Jakarta has opened registration for gubernatorial and deputy gubernatorial candidates in the 2024 Regional Head Election (Pilkada).
The registration for regional head candidates began on Tuesday, August 27, until Thursday, August 29, 2024, from 08.00 to 16.00 WIB, while on August 29 from 08.00 to 23.59 WIB.
Pramono Anung-Rano Karno officially registered as the gubernatorial and deputy gubernatorial candidates at the KPU DKI Jakarta.
Pramono-Rano Karno became the first pair to register at the KPU at 11.05 WIB. They were accompanied by their political party.
Later, Ridwan Kamil-Suswono arrived around 13.56 WIB. RK-Suswono were seen accompanied by the party ranks of the Indonesia Maju Coalition (KIM) Plus as their supporting parties. (kba)
