Rocky Gerung said, with the intelligence and ingenuity of the former Rector of Paramadina University, political opponents finally had a hard time attacking Anies to drown him.
Public officials must be ready to communicate with anyone who communicates differently. The satire delivered by Anies Baswedan will be more entertaining and acceptable to the public.
JAKARTA | KBA – Political observer Rocky Gerung said he knew very well how the Governor of DKI Jakarta Mr. Anies Baswedan thought.
According to him, Anies is a figure with a very high Intelligence Quotient (IQ) so he can think broadly.
“I know Anies Baswedan’s way of thinking. His way of thinking is smart and clever actually. So if we follow Anies’ political footsteps, it seems he knows the momentum,” he said, quoted from his personal YouTube by KBA News in Jakarta, Tuesday, January 18, 2022.
Rocky Gerung said, with the intelligence and ingenuity of the former Chancellor of Paramadina University, political opponents finally had a hard time attacking Anies to drown him.
“People want to drown Anies, and Anies will continue to float. Because he has conceptual abilities. It’s different from people who don’t have conceptual abilities,” he explained.
“So he (Anies) sucks the public’s cynicism. And he cultivates and acts as Anies’ political intelligence,” he added.
Rocky Gerung added that the National Capital City (IKN) will soon move from DKI Jakarta to Kalimantan. However, he is very sure that Anies’ name will always be remembered by the public because he has been able to lead the capital city.
“The capital city wants to move. And Anies’ name will continue to soar. Even after Anies has stepped down in October, people will still remember Anies’ name,” he said.
Just to note, yesterday the Minister of National Development Planning (PPN)/Head of Bappenas Suharso Monoarfa announced the name of the State Capital, namely Nusantara.
According to the man who was born on October 31, 1954, President Joko Widodo has agreed, that Nusantara will be elected. Of the more than 80 names submitted to the President long ago from various circles.
Facing criticism, negative accusations, blasphemy, ridicule, and bullying through social media while serving as Governor of DKI Jakarta, Anies Baswedan admitted that he was relaxed. Not bad.
“The time has passed,” Anies said while talking on the Total Politics Podcast with the theme Anies Baswedan Baper Flooding Criticism? with hosts Budi Adi Putro and Ari Putra quoted by KBA News, Thursday, January 20, 2022.
There is no special training for Anies so he will not easily get bored. Anies has been forged for a long time. As a student, Anies was active in organizations. Differences in views between students are common. Usually the criticism is poured in the poster. Those who agree support, those who disagree oppose.
As a student, Anies’ position is to observe politicians. Now as an official, changing positions as being observed and must be open-minded, willing to listen, and relaxed.
“So, it’s not the results of a special training (so as not to get bored), but the journey of life since school days, college until now. It makes it a habit to meet with different views and that’s normal. It is impossible for us to meet all of the same people. Impossible,” he said.
For Anies, free expression through social media has been around for a long time. For centuries throughout human history, humans have been gifted with two ears and two eyes. Hearing and seeing use the two limbs.
“So if everyone talks about the governor, everyone talks about the president, everyone talks about ministers, that’s not a new thing. It’s been like that from the start. The difference is, in the past, he only had two ears, now there are these (holding a cell phone). So you can hear the talk in the coffee shop, you can hear it everywhere,” he said.
As a person who has studied democracy, Anies emphasized that respecting different views has become commonplace. He also learned how to deal with the diverse perspectives of society, one of which was from other professions.
“I often imagine that our duty in the public sphere is the same as that of us serving public health. Can’t choose. So the lecturer will meet students who have graduated from high school. However, if you become a doctor, you cannot choose patients based on their level of education. The doctor will meet people who come with a variety of expressions,” he said.
According to Anies, public officials must be ready to communicate with anyone with different ways of communicating. “The important thing is that we don’t change how we do it. So if you meet anyone, please convey it in a civilized way. Tell it in a way that if we look at it later, we won’t be ashamed to see it,” he said.
The Indonesia Mengajar program adds to the experience of this kind of communication.
When traveling to remote parts of Indonesia, the people’s vocabulary is limited, but the volunteers are still able to communicate well. The most important thing is to be willing to listen.
“So if you see them being educated or not, in the end, it’s up to us. You are a great speaker what needed is your to be a great listener. We often think how to be a good speaker, that’s fine. However, what is no less important is to be a good listener.”
For Anies, listening depends on the frequency. Can’t we think, other people communicate in the same way. Obviously heard. “The people in Jakarta communicate very well. Frankly, but this candor with good manners. Generally so it is. So, with education, it doesn’t make us limit our listening. We listen to everyone,” he said.
A cool leader.
Esa Unggul University communication expert Jamiluddin Ritonga assessed that the term ‘discriminatory voice’ conveyed by the Governor of DKI Jakarta via social media was very fluid and rational, compared to that conveyed by PSI Chair Giring Ganesha.
According to Ritonga, Giring’s tweet about discordant voices looks ulgar and evokes anty-pathy from the public. The reason is, the tweet was full of innuendo to Anies Baswedan after the Nidji band performed at the Jakarta International Stadium (JIS) a few days ago.
“Anies’ satire against Giring seems to be more fluid and rational. Therefore, Anies’ satire will be more entertaining and acceptable to the public’s mind,” Ritonga said in a written message to KBA News in Jakarta, Wednesday, January 19, 2022.
“Meanwhile, Giring’s satire looks more childish. Therefore, the chances of people being entertained seem smaller,” he continued.
The Communication Science lecturer said that Giring’s counter-satire action will have an impact on public support, both positive and negative. In fact, two parties, namely supporters of Anies and Giring, will blame each other for the satire.
“Therefore, this satire will certainly have an impact on Anies and Giring. The impact will be positive or negative depending on the quality of the satire conveyed by Anies and Giring,” he said.
Ritonga explained that the quality of the satire conveyed by Giring would benefit the former minister of education and culture, because the public would judge Giring to be too vulgar in satire.
“So, this satire seems to be more profitable for Anies than Giring. This impact would apply to people outside of Anies and Giring’s supporters,” he explained.
As is known, PSI General Chair Giring Ganesha uploaded a song he sung with the lyrics ‘don’t listen to discordant voices’. Not only that, Giring also talked about the possibility of someone falling in October.
“Don’t listen to the discordant voice. October there will be a fall. Hurry up, we close the gate,” wrote Giring. (kba)
