DKI Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan is planning to attend and at the same time read poetry with several other famous artists.
Artists who have confirmed that they would participate in the event are prominent Indonesian poet Sutardji Calzoum Bachri, Jajang C. Noer, and a number of other well-known artists.
JAKARTA | KBA – Indonesian writer and poet Jose Rizal Manua said that he would hold a prayer event for the recovery of the writer Remy Sylado and at the same time raise funds to help the artist nicknamed the walking dictionary when he was discharged from the hospital.
“In the event there was an auction of paintings by Remy Sylado and there were donations as well as paintings from Jakarta poets, maybe from outside Jakarta as well. I don’t know who my friends will sympathize with at the event,” said Jose to KBA News contacted in Jakarta, Friday, January 21, 2022.
He hoped that the event would relieve Remy Sylado’s family when they left.
“We want that after Mr. Remy is discharged from the hospital, he will have savings to continue his life. That’s why we are trying to raise funds through the event,” he said.
According to Jose, the event will be held in early February 2022 at Taman Ismail Marzuki (TIM), Cikini. This event is planned to be attended by other artists.
“The event will be on February 4, 2022, Friday at 16.00 WIB in the afternoon until 17.40 WIB. Before maghrib we finish,” he said.

“I hope that Mr. Remy will recover soon and be able to write again. His thoughts are very much needed by today’s millennial generation. Because his mind is very forward. He (Remy Sylado) has a lot of venom,” he concluded.
Getting better, Remy’s wife also treated
Before being treated at the Tarakan Hospital, Remy Sylado was only treated at home by his family. Limited funding is the main reason why this nation’s literary asset, for more than a year, does not receive proper treatment as it should in the hospital.
The founder of the Indonesian theater, Jose Rizal Manua, said that the condition of the writer Remy Sylado now looks fresh after undergoing hernia surgery. Before being taken to the Tarakan Regional General Hospital (RSUD), he used to scream in pain in his body.
The well-known declaimer also said that currently Remy Sylado’s wife, Emy, was also being treated at the Tarakan Hospital because she had been suffering from a pinched nerve for a long time. The medical expenses are the same as her husband’s, borne by the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government.
“After yesterday’s hernia surgery he (Remy Sylado) is very fresh. It doesn’t hurt anymore and screams in pain. Previously, when he used to scream at night, his body was in pain,” said Jose when contacted by KBA News in Jakarta, Friday, January 21, 2022.
According to Jose, DKI Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan also asked the wife of Remy Sylado to take the same treatment at the Tarakan Hospital.
“It turns out that Mr. Remy’s wife, Mbak Emy, has a pinched nerve. He has been sick for years. Now, at Pak Anies’ request, Mbak Emy is also being treated. So now there are two beds in the room, for Mr. Remy and Ms. Emy,” he said.
Jose said the number one person in the capital city of Jakarta wants both of them to be healthy as before. “So Pak Anies wants both of them to be healthy when they leave the hospital,” he explained.
According to Jose, although Remy’s condition is improving, there are still other illnesses that are still being treated by doctors, namely wounds on the skin on his back and eye conditions.
“Because he has been bedridden for almost a year, so there is a wound on the skin behind his back. It’s also being treated. His eyes should also be examined more intensively, he said.
According to Jose, Anies wanted this walking dictionary to recover quickly. In order to continue writing the novel that had been delayed.
Remy also agreed to Anies’ request on the condition that Jose Rizal would later type the script because he himself had difficulty typing.
“He (Remy) asked me to type his writing. He spoke, I recorded,” he said.
Jose Rizal was very happy and gave his appreciation to the doctors and nurses of the Tarakan Regional Hospital who worked professionally and swiftly in caring for and treating the illness of his close friend. “Everyone worked very professionally and focused on the recovery of Mr. Remy and Ms. Emy,” he said.
