JAKARTA | KBA – Member of the Governor’s Team for the Acceleration of Development (TGUPP) Tatak Ujiyati criticized a number of parties who accused the Governor of DKI Jakarta Anies Baswedan of not working just because several spots in the capital were still flooded.
Initially, he explained several work programs of Governor Anies in an effort to control floods. One of the things Tatak mentioned was the repair of the canal sheet pile walls.
Actually, there are many flood control programs carried out by Governor Anies’ government in Jakarta. Among them, building vertical drainage wells, normalizing rivers, and building polders.
These programs have proven effective in reducing Jakarta’s flood problem. Referring to BNPB data, throughout 2021, the Capital City was hit by floods only 16 times. Much better, compared to other provinces such as Central Java, which experienced 66 floods.
“This is how the mitigation of the impact of the rainy season is carried out by the @DinasSDAJakarta officials every day throughout the year. Never stop,” Tatak wrote on his personal Twitter account, quoted by KBA News, Friday, January 21, 2022.
Because of that, Tatak said he was surprised that there were still a number of parties accusing Governor Anies of not working on the flood management program in DKI Jakarta.
“Eh, there are those who keep asking, what is @DKIJakarta doing to deal with floods. What is the program Anies? Was told, still didn’t want to know. Do you (maybe) want tempeh?” quipped Tatak.
Previously, the chairman of the PDIP faction at the DKI Jakarta DPRD, Gembong Warsono, accused Governor Anies of not working because several spots in the capital were flooded on Tuesday, January 18, 2022.
Gembong’s accusation seems to be because he was hurt to see that Governor Anies’ silent work in coordinating related officers to move quickly to deal with floods has proven effective.
At that time, said Governor Anies, flood management was carried out systematically, supported by adequate infrastructure, so that floods caused by extreme rainfall could be handled quickly.
“Jakarta was hit by extreme rain but it could be handled quickly. Why? By Allah’s permission. Systematic work and fast work pays off!” said Governor Anies. (kba)
