Jakarta Metropolitan is back as the province with the highest Employment Development Index (EDI) nationally in 2021 with a value of 76.11 referring to data from the Ministry of Manpower.
JAKARTA | KBA – Metropolitan Jakarta proves it againĀ as the province with the highest National Employment Development Index (EDI) in 2021 with a value of 76.11 referring to data from the Ministry of Manpower.
With this index value, DKI Jakarta under the leadership of Governor Mr. Anies Baswedan managed to maintain first place for two consecutive years since 2020.
The assessment indicators include manpower planning, population and workforce, job opportunities, training and work competence.
GPA is also measured based on labor productivity, industrial relations, working environment conditions, wages and welfare of workers, and social security of workers.
Below DKI Jakarta, provinces with upper middle status include South Sulawesi with an EDI of 67.38, followed by South Kalimantan (67.36), Special Region Yogyakarta (67.21), North Sulawesi (67.15), Riau Islands (68.03) and North Kalimantan (66.63).
Meanwhile, Central Kalimantan, West Sumatra, East Kalimantan, Central Java, Jambi, Maluku, Gorontalo, West Nusa Tenggara, and West Java are united as lower middle class provinces with EDI values below 63.
For example, the EDI of Central Java Province in 2021 is only 59.60 and is ranked 11th out of 34 provinces throughout Indonesia. Losing to other provinces outside Java, such as West Sumatra with an EDI of 61.90.
Likewise with West Java and East Java. These two lower-middle-class provinces each had an EDI of 56.77 and 55.35, losing to West Nusa Tenggara Province which received an EDI of 57.66.
Meanwhile, provinces with low EDI scores include West Papua (49.63), Banten (48.84), West Kalimantan (48.05), Bangka Belitung Islands (47.84), Central Sulawesi (44.68), Aceh (41.92), Papua (38.86), and in the last place is East Nusa Tenggara with an EDI of only 38.50. (kba)
