Anies’ move is a fulfilment of his promise to the residents of Petamburan to resolve the land dispute that they have been experiencing for decades, to be precise since 1997.
JAKARTA | KBA – DKI Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan has officially revoked the Governor’s Decree (Kepgub) No. 122 of 1997 concerning the Determination of Ownership of 23 ha of Land for the Construction of Cheap Flats and Its Facilities in Petamburan, Tanah Abang, Central Jakarta Administrative City. This decree is considered detrimental to the residents of Petamburan, Central Jakarta.
Anies’ move is a fulfilment of his promise to the residents of Petamburan to resolve the land dispute that they have been experiencing for decades, to be precise since 1997.
Mr. Hasanudin, a resident of Petamburan who is also the head of RT 010 RW 05, said he was very happy after hearing information from his colleagues who had met Governor Anies at the DKI City Hall. For decades the residents of Petamburan have been fighting for the revocation of Kepgub 122, no one has been able to.
Now, during the leadership of Governor Anies Baswedan, the people of Petamburan are finally relieved. They thanked Governor Anies.
“I am very happy because it has been a long time since 1997 from the past no other governors have been able to revoke, so thank God for Mr Anies, I thank you personally and on behalf of the people,” Hasanudin said to KBA News in Petamburan, Central Jakarta, Thursday, January 20, 2022.
According to him, the gubernatorial decree is very detrimental because it causes residents to be unable to obtain an IMB and find it difficult to sell, as well as unable to process land ownership certificates.
“But now, with the revocation of this decree, God willing, it will be easy for BPN because it is continued,” he added.
Meanwhile, another resident, Mr. Abdul Fahmi, feels the same way as other residents regarding the disputed land.
“There are worries, what if they are evicted. Because the governor’s certificate has not been revoked. Now, we have calmed down,” said Abdul.
Meanwhile, other residents, Mr. Zaelani, were happy to hear Governor Anies’ decision. He admits that he has lived in Petamburan for more than 15 years, there are many good memories in this area.
“We are comfortable living here, there are no evictions, we welcome them with joy and pleasure,” said Zaelani.
He admitted that after the revocation of the Gubernatorial Decree, the residents of Petamburan would always support Anies Baswedan no matter what he did.
“I will support Pak Anies’ fight,” he said.
However, to hold the thanksgiving, they have not received any news from the Petamburan community forum.
“Don’t know yet. There is no information yet, I’ll let you know when it’s certain,” said Hasanudin.
It was informed that, for 24 years, there were eight RWs in Petamburan who could not apply for a land ownership certificate and could not apply for a Building Permit (IMB) because they collided with the Gubernatorial Decree 122 of 1997.
Then representatives of residents who are members of the Petamburan Citizens Forum managed to meet DKI Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan at Jakarta City Hall, Friday, January 7, 2022.
After the meeting, Governor Anies then issued Gubernatorial Decree 1596 of 2021 which contained the revocation of Gubernatorial Decree 122 of 1997. Residents can now easily manage IMB after 24 years of living in uncertainty. (kba)
